Communication methods have changed considerably thanks to the internet, we can buy, sell or just have fun using this exciting medium, its in our place of work, our homes and even in places of leisure....
What can I gain by having a website? Anyone who has a website, whether they build it themselves or employ the services of a professional to build it for them, has the potential to communicate their existence to....
 THE WHOLE WORLD!
24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK, 365 DAYS A YEAR!

NAME ONE OTHER METHOD THAT CAN DO THAT!

Does size matter! This really is one of the few things in life where size really doesn't matter!
Whether you want just a very small site to let people know who you are and where you are, or an "all singing, all dancing" site to shout to the world that you exist!
Or, whether you are an individual with an unusual hobby, a small business venture just trying to get of the ground, or an existing business of any size, there is a place for you!

The beauty of the Internet is that small businesses can compete with large - nobody knows the size of your company from a URL. As long as your site works well, is easy to use, and you can react to information supplied quickly, you can compete effectively!

Who uses the Internet? A whole spectrum of people use the Internet, it is widely used for functions such as:-

Marketing - some companies are not actually selling items, they use the Internet for marketing purposes, directing you to local sales outlets.  Car manufacturers are a good example of this type of use.
Gathering information - some companies don't have an Internet presence of their own and they use the Internet when they want to find new suppliers or find out information from those already on the Internet.
Will it be expensive for me to have a website? This depends pretty much on what is required, obviously the more sophisticated the site and the more you want it to do, the more it costs, people often think that it will be far more expensive that it really is.
Will there be on-going costs? The simple answer to this is "YES" of course, almost everything has a cost, the important thing to realise though is that there is not only one method of connection, therefore there are many different pricing packages, it just means finding the one which can suit your needs and your budget!
But is it really secure? Again, providing your site is built correctly using recognized software and being hosted correctly on secure servers, then it is considered as safe as any other method where your credit card details are supplied.
How do people know that my site exists? There are a lot of ways that this can be done....

For existing businesses of course the first thing to do is to inform all of your customers and suppliers! They may even be very happy to know that they can buy on-line from you, in turn they may then inform their associates of your existence and so on....
Your web address should appear on every piece of literature possible from letterheads, invoices to advertisements etc.
Your site will be registered with search engines, it sometimes takes a while for your site to be included by some of the engines, but this is where the miscellaneous searches are generated from.
What key items do I need to get connected to the Internet? Physical equipment which consists as a minimum of -
A computer of suitable specification.
A modem (device that connects your computer to a telephone connection).
A telephone socket.
A printer (not essential but makes life easier!)

An access account -
A method of "dialing up" the Internet.
An access provider (sometimes known as ISP's - Internet Service Providers.)
Well in that case, what's stopping me? I don't know, why don't you contact me at sales@mischaweb.co.uk and we can find out?
